Developing our people is critical to our strategy and fostering our culture of empowerment.<br><br><strong>A Brief Overview<br><br></strong>The US LBM Commodity Buyer works with the Senior Buyer and the operational leadership by coordinating contract negotiations with critical commodity suppliers, organizing/conducting regional spot and block buys, and coordinating forward pricing to protect long-term customer contracts. The Commodity Buyer is also responsible for working with teammates to communicate the status of the volatile commodity markets to crucial stakeholders and monitoring commodity-related working capital performance/DSI compared to the target for their assigned areas.<br><br><strong>Pay Range</strong>: $61,000 - $82,000 annually<br><br><strong>What You Will Do<br><br></strong><ul><li>Participates in the annual commodity contract negotiation process for assigned areas; monitors and executes supplier agreements for their designated areas.</li><li>Procures commodity products for assigned areas.</li><li>Builds and maintains relationships with strategic commodity partners.</li><li>Transacts business with strategic commodity suppliers as assigned by leadership.</li><li>Participates in joint supplier/division business plan meetings to facilitate the achievement of objectives.</li><li>Provides guidance to operational leadership on the direction of the commodity markets.</li><li>Communicates new product opportunities to the divisions as applicable.</li><li>Participates in negotiations for new terms, rebates, and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs for US LBM and divisions.</li><li>Helps resolve challenges between suppliers and US LBM operations, including but not limited to cost, quantities, AP variances, and late shipments.</li><li>Travels/visits divisions in their region quarterly to discuss pricing, strategy, and other updates.</li><li>Works with team to execute block buys/spot buys and forward pricing for the divisions to protect long-term customer contracts.</li><li>Complies with company safety, attendance, and ethics guidelines.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required For All Jobs<br><br></strong><ul><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li><li>Comply with all policies and standards.</li><li>Adheres to Company’s commitment to workplace safety.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Education Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree preferred.</li><li>Concentration in Supply Chain studies preferred.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Experience Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>5 years of purchasing, inventory control/management, materials input, or warehousing experience required.</li><li>Strong knowledge of the building material industry to support Supply Chain objectives.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Skills And Abilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>A high degree of interpersonal communication for negotiation.</li><li>Mastery of the tools needed to extract data, conduct RFPs, manage and replenish inventory.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems.</li><li>Knowledge and skill to organize, plan, manage, execute, and evaluate projects.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Travel Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>10-20% Travel.<br><br></li></ul><em>US LBM Holdings, LLC, is an equal-opportunity employer.
