Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Audio Transcriber to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately converting audio content from podcasts and videos into well-formatted, error-free text transcripts. This role requires excellent listening skills, strong command of the English language, and the ability to deliver high-quality transcripts within tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities

  • Listen carefully to podcasts and video audio files and transcribe them accurately and efficiently.

  • Ensure all transcripts are clear, coherent, and free of grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors.

  • Maintain consistency in formatting and style according to company guidelines.

  • Edit and proofread transcripts for quality assurance before final submission.

  • Manage multiple transcription projects simultaneously and meet agreed deadlines.

  • Collaborate with the editorial and content teams to clarify ambiguous audio or context when needed.

  • Protect confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Exceptional proficiency in English, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

  • Excellent active listening skills with the ability to discern different speakers, accents, and tones.

  • Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with high accuracy.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Familiarity with transcription software and tools is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.

  • Good understanding of podcast and video content formats is preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience in audio transcription, particularly in podcasts or video content, is highly desirable.

  • Experience with transcription tools such as Express Scribe, Otter.ai, or similar platforms is an advantage.
