Senior Technical Product Manager, Planning and Controls - Autonomous Vehicles

The Autonomous Vehicles (AV) team is searching for a highly motivated, highly technical Product Manager to define and build the future of NVIDIA's self-driving software. Our mission is to build and scale self-driving technology at light speed – from L2 driving to L4 robotaxis. We work with multiple OEM partners globally, and our software will be used by millions of customers worldwide. If this sounds like an exciting challenge, read on!

In this role, you will be responsible for core components of NVIDIA's planning and controls stack, covering both classical and AI planners. You will need to deeply understand the technical aspects of this component and how they relate overall to parking and driving maneuvers. Your role includes identifying the "right problems" for teams to work on. From there, you will work with leading experts to design, prioritize and deliver the best technology solutions for these problems. Ultimately you will lead teams in defining and delivering against advanced planning and controls technology product roadmaps for parking and driving -- making the future of self driving vehicles a reality.

  • What you'll be doing:
  • Work collaboratively with other technical product managers and technical leads to understand the sophisticated self-driving problems we are solving, and to break down these problems into a solution with prioritized technical requirements.
  • Interact directly with engineering leaders to convert those requirements into industry-competitive roadmaps enabling our entire system to achieve end to end goals.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with teams and internal customers to deliver those roadmaps: communicate and resolve bottlenecks, address issues, and measure outcomes.
  • Develop a deep technical understanding of the entire stack, but especially in your area of ownership, to proactively identify areas of improvement and investment, influencing technical direction
  • What we need to see:
  • Strong technical skills, including experience in motion planning or controls in autonomous vehicles for driving/parking, robotics, or ADAS systems.
  • Driven, hands on, leader with strong skills in communication, influencing, and multi-functional team building across time zones
  • Creative problem solver who can handle ambiguous situations, reach consensus, and make decisions
  • Execution focus, with experience bringing new and innovative products and technologies into reality
  • 12+ years of relevant work experience with 5+ yrs of recent Product or Program Management experience
  • BS/MS Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • Relevant domain knowledge/experience (AV planning and controls, ML based planners, parking planners, other robotics experience)
  • Experience in a fast-paced AI company or Autonomous Vehicle company
  • Proven technical background in a related field, such as experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, ML engineer, or similar
  • Showing you always strive to learn new things, are motivated to solve hard problems, and that you care about the end product
