Medical Billing Executive - Athena and PracticeSuite Platform Experience

Job Summary:

Progressive Technology is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Executive with experience in Athena and PracticeSuite platforms. As a vital member of our healthcare operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient processing of medical claims, managing billing cycles, and handling reimbursements. You will play a key role in maintaining optimal revenue cycle management and supporting our medical billing departments objectives.

This role requires in-depth knowledge of medical billing procedures, experience with Athena and PracticeSuite systems, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service within the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process medical billing for healthcare providers using Athena and PracticeSuite platforms.

  • Verify insurance information and ensure that claims are processed correctly and timely.

  • Prepare, review, and submit clean claims to insurance companies and follow up on denials or rejections.

  • Handle patient billing inquiries and resolve billing issues efficiently and professionally.

  • Maintain accurate patient account records and ensure that all billing information is up-to-date.

  • Collaborate with medical coders and other departments to ensure accurate coding and billing practices.

  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely payments.

  • Work with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies and appeals.

  • Stay updated on payer policies, coding changes, and regulations to ensure compliance with all healthcare billing guidelines.

  • Generate financial reports for internal tracking and reporting purposes.

  • Support ongoing billing audits and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Medical Billing Executive, preferably with hands-on experience with Athena and PracticeSuite platforms.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.

  • Knowledge of payer policies, insurance verification, and claims management.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and billing processes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and medical billing software.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, with a focus on Athena and PracticeSuite platforms.

  • Certification in Medical Billing or Coding (such as AAPC or AHIMA) is a plus.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time position.

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

  • Occasional overtime may be required based on workload.
