BSS Systems Engineer

<p>The BSS Systems Engineer is responsible for configuring, integrating, and maintaining core Business Support Systems that support service delivery and billing operations. This role focuses on platform reliability, API integrations, and workflow automation across systems such as Salesforce, Netcracker, and provisioning APIs.</p> <p><strong>Title:</strong> BSS Systems Engineer</p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Remote</p> <p><strong>Rate: </strong>$85,000-$115,000 annually</p> <p><strong>Full-Time/Part Time:</strong> Full-Time</p> <p><strong>Reporting to:</strong> Director of BSS</p> <p><strong>Primary Responsibilities Include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, configure, and maintain BSS platforms including CRM, billing, product catalog, provisioning, service activation, inventory systems and workflow tools.</li> <li>Integrate internal systems and third-party applications using APIs, webhooks, and middleware and scripts.</li> <li>Automate service provisioning, activation, and billing workflows for broadband, VoIP, and IPTV services.</li> <li>Ensure data integrity and synchronization between CRM, NMS, and billing platforms.</li> <li>Troubleshoot system-level issues and ensure timely resolution.</li> <li>Collaborate with Sr Business Process Manager, Finance, Network Engineering, Network Operations, and Customer Experience and Marketing teams to define and implement business workflows.</li> <li>Participate in vendor evaluations and implementations of BSS tools.</li> <li>Participate in system architecture design, release planning, and performance optimization efforts.</li> <li>Create and maintain system documentation, workflows, data models, and change logs.</li> <li>Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), change control, and system upgrades.</li> <li>Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with vendors as needed.</li> <li>Support reporting and analytics by exposing key system data to BI tools or warehouses.</li> <li>Contribute to cybersecurity compliance and access control settings.</li> <li>Other duties and projects as assigned.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You will need to have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.</li> <li>5+ years of experience with BSS/OSS platforms in a telecom or ISP environment.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of provisioning systems (e.g., Symphonic, Alianza, Calix CMS).</li> <li>Hands-on experience with platforms such as Salesforce, Netcracker, Domo, or similar.</li> <li>Experience with IP networking fundamentals and services (DHCP, RADIUS, DNS).</li> <li>Intermediate to expert level experience with scripting (Python, Bash, SQL, REST APIs).</li> <li>Strong understanding of data flows and ETL.</li> <li>Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.</li> <li>Effective cross-functional communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to work across multiple departments and manage competing priorities.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Even Better If You Have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with network management systems and monitoring tools.</li> <li>Working knowledge of OSS systems and their interaction with BSS.</li> <li>Knowledge of network topology and service design (PON, DOCSIS).</li> <li>Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).</li> <li>Familiarity with TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID, Open APIs).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Occasional travel may be required for project implementation or vendor meetings.</li> <li>Participation in scheduled maintenance windows and incident response support.</li> <li>Participation in cross-functional projects and change control boards.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join Schurz Broadband Group?</strong></p> <p>When you join Schurz Broadband Group, you’ll be part of an award-winning company and team.
